Always the answer for Farmer Steveo, there’s no such thing as too much gravy.
A simple quick gravy. Easily editable.
Ingredients:
2 T. Butter
2 T. All Purpose Flour
2 c. Any variety of stock you have on hand. The fattier the better.
Milk/cream/water to thin
Salt & pepper to taste
Directions:
Make a rue: in a skillet or saucepan melt the butter, then add the flour. Whisk to combine and cook over medium heat for 1-2 minutes.
Add stock, keep whisking to avoid lumpy gravy. Cook while whisking for 3-5 minutes. You’ll see the gravy thicken.
Thin with milk, cream, more stock or water depending on your preference or needs.
Taste and add salt and pepper to your liking. Note: If making ahead of the meal, reheat while whisking just before serving.
Excellent on everything! Vinka’s favorite is popcorn 🤣
